Maxime Barrot
Charney, Beaujolais, France
I'm originally from the village of Charnay, in the heart of the Beaujolais region of golden stones. From a young age, I was nourished by this wine-growing atmosphere, punctuated by the seasons.
These memories gave rise to a desire in me to continue this social dynamism and promote this profession, which is part of our regional culture. I like the idea of continuity.
Until now, I've received from others and positioned myself as a student of nature.
In Chile I had a wonderful encounter with Roberto Henriquez, who put me on the path to making small, carefully crafted wines. Subsequently, I worked for a year and a half at Domaine de la Soufrandière, with the Bret Brothers , learning about winemaking in a technical aspect of perfect mastery. Fine work in a gastronomic format.
I am fortunate and proud to be accompanied by winemakers who are generous with their advice. By this, I would like to thank the Thillardon family, the Saint Cyr family, the Texier family, the Métras family and the Bret family for their support. It is thanks to them that I have confidence in this artistic profession.
I am maintaining the trading activity with the ambition of promoting the villages of Saint Germain, Saint Vérand and Sainte Paule, rich and little-known terroirs.
I craft my wines with a lot of soul. I'm learning the virtuosity of the craft. Going beyond technique to touch the clitoris of the palate.
Consciousness can vibrate through our senses.
